Business Administration Assistant Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 – Y1
This is an ideal course for someone who is either new to the world of work or those with little industrial experience. Support the smooth running of a business by helping with everyday administrative tasks. You’ll work with different teams and may speak with customers or suppliers. Help keep things organised, accurate, and running efficiently as part of a team.
On this course you will:
Learn essential skills needed in a business environment. These will include:
Communication methods: emails, meetings, phone and video calls, document creation and presentation skills
Organisation:?keep track of tasks by using calendars and prioritisation methods
Teamwork:?work well with others and support your team
IT Skills:?use common software to complete tasks including cloud services and understand appropriate security measures including data storage
Professional Development: create a personal development plan, understand self-reflection and awareness of own learning style and participate in performance reviews, one-to-ones and workplace training

Course details
Assessments
The apprentice will build a portfolio of evidence throughout their apprenticeship, which is based on their job role. The apprentice is assessed via End Point Assessment by an independent assessor. The assessor will examine their portfolio and ask questions about this evidence.
The apprentice will also have a separate Interview, where a short question and answer session about Knowledge and Skills acquired throughout their apprenticeship. Both of these assessments are normally carried out online.
Successful completion of these two assessments will be required to pass their apprenticeship.
Entry Requirements
All entrants must hold four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent (or above), preferably including GCSE Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English you will continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s). At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 2 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills before progressing to your next level course
Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary.
However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship via a pre-Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.
If you are 19 or over, functional skills are not required unless requested by the apprentice’s employer.
Progression
Future Steps… On completion you could choose to progress on to a variety of Apprenticeships, such as Level 3 Business, Level 3 Data Technician, Level 3 HR Support or Level 3 Multi Channel Marketer.
Example job roles include: Customer Service Advisor/Customer Service Representative/Assistant Customer Service Consultant/Business Administrative Assistant.
