Advanced Professional Cookery
For anyone who wants to be a chef, this is your gateway into the fast-paced world of restaurants, hotels, catering, or your own food business. You will train in our state-of-the-art Lifestyle Centre and Taw Restaurant, gaining real-world experience while cooking for customers with beautiful views over Barnstaple.
On this course you will:
– Learn food safety, hygiene and kitchen regulations
– Develop ingredient knowledge, nutrition and menu planning
– Master knife skills, food prep and presentation techniques
– Explore advanced cooking methods, plus bread, pastry and dessert production

Assessments
Assessments include practical observations, written assignments and workbooks, online or paper-based exams, and a final practical assessment preparing and
presenting a full-course meal to industry standards.
Entry Requirements
To be accepted onto this Level 3 programme, you must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language.
You need to have successfully completed a level 2 in Hospitality and Catering or another equivalent qualification.
Progression
You could progress to higher-level study, an apprenticeship, or employment as a chef in the hospitality industry.
