Building Services (Electrical and Plumbing)
This course lets you study a variety of different trade areas, developing the hand skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare you for progression to a Level 2 trade-specific qualification or an apprenticeship of your choice. You will work in our well-equipped, modern workshops and resource centre, benefiting from strong industry links.
On this course you will:
– Learn basic plumbing, electrical and tiling knowledge, developing hands on skills and techniques
– Work in our well-equipped, modern workshops and resource centre
– Benefit from industry links, guest speakers, site visits and the potential for work experience
– Take part in weekly themed tutorials on topics such as mental health, construction news and wellbeing

Assessments
You will have a combination of written and practical assessments.
Entry Requirements
You must hold four GCSEs at grade 2 or equivalent (or above), including Maths and English.
Progression
You could progress to a Level 2 trade-specific qualification such as Electrical Installation or Plumbing, or an apprenticeship of your choice.
Study Programme
Every full-time student at North Devon College will have their own Study Programme which will include:
– Your academic or vocational qualification.
– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.
– Work Experience – hours will vary depending on your qualification and course level.
