Maintenance Operations
This one-year course gives you the practical skills and knowledge to carry out a broad range of building maintenance tasks. You will work across different trade areas such as Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Carpentry, Plastering and Plumbing.
You’ll be learning how to keep buildings safe, functional and well presented, and building a strong foundation for a varied career in property and site
maintenance.
On this course you will:
– Develop practical skills across a range of building maintenance tasks
– Learn to work safely with tools, materials and equipment
– Understand building components and how to maintain and repair them
– Build the transferable skills employers in the maintenance sector value

Assessments
Assessment is practical and ongoing, including workshop assessments, written work and knowledge-based tasks.
Entry Requirements
All entrants must hold four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent (or above), including GCSE Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English you will continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s).
Progression
You could progress to a Level 3 course, an apprenticeship, or employment in building maintenance.
